Run The Gauntlet returns to Lighthouse Point Park on October 21, 2018!

We are back at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven for our 7th Annual Fall Run the Gauntlet Race. Run the Gauntlet at Lighthouse Point Park is part of the Denali Gauntlet Race Series (Denali also has a spring Run the Gauntlet which is held at East Rock Park). Run the Gauntlet at Lighthouse Point Park features a 5K course with 15 man-made and natural obstacles at New Haven’s beautiful Lighthouse Point Park. After the race, participants are invited to enjoy a post-race party featuring pizza from Old World Pizza Truck, beer from Thimble Island Brewing Company, and live entertainment. Proceeds from Run the Gauntlet at Lighthouse Point Park support the Denali Foundation Scholarship Fund for children attending Soundview Family YMCA.

Team Competition

Get your friends together and form a team for our Team Challenge! Don’t miss out on this chance for bragging rights!

Team Rules

  • Teams can have an unlimited number of participants but must have a minimum of 3 people.

  • The top 3 fastest times from each team will be used in determining the team’s overall placement.

  • All team members must run in same heat

  • Awards will be given to the top 3 teams in each category.

  • Each team can only register for one category.

  • Team members must enter the same Team Name when registering.

Team Categories

  • Family Team – all team members must be related

  • Corporate Team – all team members must be current employees at the same company

  • CrossFit/Gym Team – all team members must be members of the same CrossFit location

  • Open Team – any group of 3 or more people

Friday & Saturday Packet Pick Up & Registration:

    • 10/19: 2:30pm – 6pm @ Denali Branford
    • 10/20: 10am – 4pm @ Denali Branford

Sunday:

  • 8:00AM: Registration opens
  • 9:00AM: Heat 1
  • 10:00AM: Heat 2
  • 11:00AM: Heat 3
  • 11:30AM: Awards

Post Race Party

At our post race party enjoy gourmet pizza, beer and live music. Old World Pizza Trucks will be on hand dishing out some of their signature pizzas.  Dance to our live band and relax after conquering the Gauntlet. Pizza will be made available to spectators for an additional charge.

Amenities

  • First 600 registered runners receive a technical running shirt.

  • Post-race beach party includes a Pizza Truck, awards ceremony & live music.

  • Each finisher over 21 receives free beer.

  • Medical personnel and aid stations along the course.

Divisions

The top three 5K finishers receive awards in the following divisions: [Men & Women] 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+, Best Costume and Team Challenge!

A 5K course with 15 natural and man-made family friendly obstacles, running along Long Island Sound and wooded trails! Race Village, Check-in and Race Day Registration is located at the Carousel House. Please be careful as you walk to the Carousel House as you will have to cross the race course. See you there!

FAQ

Can my son/daughter run the race?

We ask that all participants be at least 8 years or older. Runners between the ages of 8-12 need parental guidance.

Is there any entertainment for children under 8 years old?

There will be a kid friendly “Mini Gauntlet” where children can participate in an un-timed mini obstacle course.

What is the schedule leading up to Run the Gauntlet race day?

Packet Pickup @ Denali Branford

  • Friday & Saturday before the race

Race Day:

  • 7:30AM Packet Pickup opens

  • 9:00 AM Heat 1

  • 10:00 AM Heat 2

  • 11:00AM Heat 3

  • Post Race party 9:30 – 12:00

What does the post race party consist of?

  • After the race all runners over 21 will enjoy free beer

  • Pizza from Old World Pizza Truck

  • Live Music

How do you split up awards?
