Hello and greetings Denali Blog reader!
My Name is Brian, but some of you may know me by another name, Sublyme. Sublyme is my trail name given to me on the Appalachian Trail by my trail family, the Spagetts, made up of myself, Tree Beard, ET, Shepherd, Prick, and Shaky Jake. Together we walked 2190.9 miles from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Mt Katahdin in Maine in just under five months.
If going by a different name chosen for you by others, being “homeless,” extremely smelly, tired, always hungry and walking 20 something miles a day sounds like a good time to you, then you may want to consider thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail. In this entry, I will try to give you a little insight on planning such a long journey.
