Thank you to everyone who joined us in Old Saybrook and Providence over the last few months to learn about and support Lhakpa Sherpa. Lhakpa is headed to Nepal for her 10th Everest summit at the end of April and we wanted to ask a few month questions before she took off. You can follow her journey on our Instagram page starting in May, stay tuned!
In May 2018, in the early morning, climbing from the Chinese side of the mountain, Lhakpa Sherpa summitted Everest for the ninth time. She broke her own record for most ascents of Mount Everest by a woman.
Interview conducted by Amy Parulis on January 28, 2019.
Lhakpa also owns her own expedition company, Cloudscape Climbing (http://cloudscapeclimbing.com/) where she leads hikes, mountaineering and trekking trips around New England, Mount Everest, and Mount Manaslu.
